Clesana C1 and X1 Remote Portable Toilets

The Clesana C1 and X1 systems are designed precisely for situations where no traditional water-based toilet infrastructure is available, such as cabins, RVs, off-grid use and remote locations.

The X1 is quite flexible. It can be operated via 12V, 24V, a battery pack (18–20V) or the 110V adapter, and it has an XT-60 connector, so it can also be run or charged directly from a solar module. Around 140W is sufficient, with a voltage converter on the solar side.

Alternatively, our other model, the C1 (the built-in white unit), is designed for 12V RVs or Van conversions, and can also run from a LiFePO4 battery charged via solar.

Use is normally sealed hygienically in barrier film, so the toilet does not collect a full day of urine in one large bag and then seal it at the end. The advantage of this principle is maximum hygiene, no open waste tank, and very good odour containment.

Depending on the amount of liquid, multiple urine uses can typically be managed very efficiently in practice, but of course overall consumption depends on the frequency and pattern of use.

Operating cost depends mainly on how often the toilet is used and whether it is used mostly for urine only, mixed use, or full-time use. The cost per bag are CAD 0.40 in average.
